Ringing telephones, discussions at the corner of the desk, keyboard noises... In open spaces, noise pollution is everywhere, but - phew! - not inevitable. Interview with Kancou Camara, acoustic furniture specialist at Bruneau.
Acoustic cabins
In the shape of a small house or a design cube, these installations are first and foremost seductive because of their neat design, but Kancou, our specialist on the subject, is keen to point out: "Yes, they are very trendy, but what makes them so successful is above all their effectiveness in terms of acoustic insulation. And indeed, having tested one of them: it's amazing. Designed with thick fabric-covered walls, they allow you to isolate yourself from noise or to avoid creating it.
Noise-cancelling headphones
Some are called "passive noise reduction": the sound insulation is provided by the materials used. And others are referred to as "active noise reduction": these models incorporate more advanced technology that is triggered by a button. Without going into technical details, you should know that the market for these headphones has boomed in recent years and that their performances are amazing. To be tested ;)
"On legs, attached to the wall or desk or suspended from the ceiling ... Acoustic panels and partitions are quick to install and offer good value for money. And they are also very easy to integrate into an existing workspace," says Kancou. And to top it all off, the design is both stylish and decorative. Wood motif, coloured panel, lowered roof, honeycomb shape and much more. Very inspiring: we think they are beautiful!
Acoustic seating
For smaller rooms, more compact solutions such as armchairs and sofas can also combine design and acoustic insulation. They not only provide comfortable seating, but also have high, well-padded acoustic walls on three sides: think of it as a way to maintain privacy during a phone call or conversation!
